A token needs a job.

Within Liberdus, $LIB is designed for network fees, message tolls, validator incentives, staking and future governance.
The strongest token utility is tied to activity the network genuinely needs.

But simply listing a bunch of use cases is useless—you have to see whether they actually work on-chain. If no one uses something like messaging fees, doesn’t that make them effectively zero?

Actually, if you think about it, the most solid utility is making people have to hold or spend the token to use the network, such as having to pay to send messages. $LIB’s design approach is steady and pragmatic, but in the end, it still depends on whether the Liberdus ecosystem is genuinely needed. Hopefully it’s not just self-indulgence; I’ll be keeping an eye on what comes next.

I agree—tokens aren’t air; they only have meaning when they circulate among the various nodes.

Staking and governance are old hat; the key is whether the network fee component can generate sustained demand.

Exactly—the biggest fear for a token is to merely get listed on an exchange and then have nothing else going on. Tokens with real use cases like this are the reliable ones.
