The ZEC news sounds like schrodinger's cat
Has it been exploited or not?
If a hacker was able to mint infinite or a large amount of zcash:native what would they do?
1. Dump it all as quickly as possible and exit
2. Play the game and sell only in small chunks over time that match shielded entries of ZEC coming in.
I think if this even happened to begin with, the exploiter would take the 2nd option. It's in private, not public like other DeFi exploits tend to be. Therefore, the exploiter has many more options + can remain undetected for longer given the assets can be shielded. They can then slowly sell their ZEC over time into volume.
On the other hand, given this was just discovered, perhaps thats enough for the exploiter (again, if it even happened to begin with) to be a little more aggressive with selling. Yesterday, zcash:native dropped almost -50%, and I can't remember the last time we saw that level of capitulation on a single asset in 1 day.
