Mirae Asset Signals Rotation From Memory Semiconductors to U.S. Hyperscalers on August 6, as Memory Stocks Fall 28% in July

According to Mirae Asset's Global ETF head Kim Sang-yul, speaking in a YouTube webinar on August 6, investors should diversify away from concentrated memory semiconductor exposure toward U.S. hyperscalers as the market enters a rotation phase. Memory semiconductor stocks fell 28% in July after rising 65% in May and 12% in June, while hyperscaler stocks gained 15% in July following weakness in May and June. Kim noted that memory semiconductors grew 250% year-over-year in 2026, with logic and micro semiconductors expanding 37% and 19% respectively, while 2027 growth forecasts show memory at 32.1%, logic at 27.1%, and micro at 20%. The shift reflects AI investment flows moving beyond semiconductor suppliers to hyperscalers actively building data center infrastructure.
