China's Gold Production Falls 14.62% in H1 2026 as Consumption Rises 1.23%

According to China Gold Association, domestic gold production fell 14.62% year-over-year to 152.908 tons in the first half of 2026, while consumption increased 1.23% to 511.412 tons. Imported raw material gold production rose 4.62% to 77.080 tons.

Within consumption, gold bars and coins surged 28.42% to 339.336 tons, offsetting a 33.88% decline in gold jewelry demand to 132.133 tons. Industrial and other gold uses fell 2.90% to 39.943 tons.
