Microsoft Reveals OpenAI Generated $24.1B in AI Revenue Through June 2026, Over Half of Total

According to Microsoft documents filed last week, OpenAI contributed $24.1 billion in revenue during the fiscal year through June 2026, representing more than 50 percent of Microsoft's total AI business revenue, and potentially approaching 70 percent. Bloomberg analysis estimates Microsoft's overall AI business revenue at approximately $34 billion for the fiscal year, based on a 123 percent year-over-year growth rate disclosed in March. Under their partnership agreement, OpenAI pays Microsoft for cloud computing resources, model development costs, and revenue sharing arrangements.
