South Korea's KOSPI Rebounds 18% on July 31 After Worst Month Ever; Index Still Down 22% From June

According to Bitcoin.com News, South Korea's KOSPI index rebounded 18% on July 31 after plunging 33% throughout July, marking the index's largest one-day jump on record and the worst calendar month in its history. The rebound was fueled by the forced liquidation of Leopold Aschenbrenner's AI hedge fund, which lost 67% in July amid leveraged bets, and an overnight rally on Wall Street where Microsoft's earnings beat lifted the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index 8%, benefiting Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Despite the recovery, KOSPI remains about 22% below its late-June record high and has continued sliding since August 4.
