Samsung and SK Hynix CEOs Under Investigation for 10% Profit-Sharing Deal on August 5

According to a South Korean shareholder group on August 5, the Gyeonggi Southern Police Department has launched investigations into Samsung Electronics co-CEOs Jeon Young-hyun and Roh Tae-moon, and SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung over allegations of breach of trust in union bonus negotiations. The group accused the executives of reaching performance bonus agreements without adequate due diligence. Samsung agreed to provide special bonuses equivalent to 10.5% of semiconductor business profits, while SK Hynix established a profit-sharing mechanism allocating 10% of semiconductor division operating profits to employees, both finalized in May.
