According to Boltz, the company has halted its Bitcoin swap service indefinitely after AI-assisted attacks overwhelmed its ability to maintain secure operations. The non-custodial provider said it cannot estimate when services will resume, as security reviews determined it could not safely restart operations while facing continued attacks from multiple well-resourced groups.
Boltz emphasized that customer funds remain protected due to its non-custodial architecture, leaving users in control of their Bitcoin throughout swaps. Refund services remain available through the platform's API, and customer support continues to operate. The outage has affected wallet providers including Aqua, Bull Bitcoin, and ZEUS.
