About Deposits

Is USDx a cryptocurrency?
No, USDx is not a cryptocurrency. It is a unit used on the platform to display your balance in US dollars. USDx is pegged 1:1 to assets denominated in USDT.

Why did my USDT become USDx? Did I incur any losses?
No losses occurred. When you transfer USDT into your CFD account, it is displayed as USDx. This is to comply with regulatory requirements; your assets remain fully backed by USDT, with no manual conversion needed and no additional fees or custody charges.
Currently, the platform supports transferring four assets into CFD accounts: USDT, USDC, USD1, and GUSD. When transferring non-USDT assets, they are first instantly converted to USDT before being transferred. The exchange rate is based on the real-time rate.

Can I withdraw USDx?
No. USDx is neither a fiat currency nor a cryptocurrency; it is only used as an accounting and display unit for CFD assets. You can directly transfer CFD assets back to your Gate account and then withdraw USDT as usual.

Why use USDx?
USDx helps us display your balance clearly and consistently, while also meeting regulatory standards. Your funds remain in your possession and are 100% backed by USDT.

About Accounts

Does CFD (MT5) support sub-accounts?
No, MT5 does not support sub-accounts. Only your main Gate account can activate a CFD (MT5) account.

What is the difference between the main password and the read-only password?
The main password grants full access to your MT5 account, allowing you to view account information and trade. The read-only password only allows you to log in and view account information, but not to trade. The initial password is automatically generated by the system when the account is opened; you can click [Reset] to change it.

How are CFD contract products settled on MT5?
All CFD products are settled in US dollars, while your deposit currency is USDT. When you trade CFDs, the conversion between USDT and USD is handled automatically by the system.

About Trading

Leverage multiples for CFD contracts
Different CFDs have different leverage multiples (forex contracts can offer leverage up to 500x). You can view leverage details in the contract information, but you cannot manually adjust the leverage.

What is the maximum number of orders and positions for CFD contracts?
You can place up to 300 orders and hold up to 300 positions at the same time.

Why can’t I add to an existing position?
CFD contracts use an independent position mode. Each time you buy or sell to open a position, a separate position is created and managed individually. For example, with AAPL:
If you buy 1 lot at 300 and another at 310, you will have two separate long positions for AAPL, with entry prices of 300 and 310 respectively.

Why does my net asset value fluctuate even when I hold equal long and short positions?
CFD positions calculate unrealized profit and loss based on the counterparty price. When the spread between buy and sell prices changes, the unrealized P&L difference between your long and short positions may change, affecting your net asset value. For example, with AAPL:
Suppose you hold 1 lot long at 300 and 1 lot short at 310. If the sell price is 305.2 and the buy price is 305.0, the spread is 2. Your long position’s unrealized P&L is 5.2 USDx, and your short position’s unrealized P&L is 5 USDx, totaling 10.2 USDx. If the spread widens to 4, with the sell price at 305.3 USDx and the buy price at 304.9 USDx, the unrealized P&L becomes 10.4 USDx. In this scenario, your long and short positions are fully hedged, but your net asset value still increases.
