To protect the security of users’ assets, Gate reminds you to remain alert to potential scams in which bad actors impersonate Gate representatives and contact users under the pretext of job interviews, merchant recruitment, product testing, payment feature upgrades, or new business experience programs, then persuade them to transfer funds or scan QR codes to make payments.
These activities may be conducted through channels such as Telegram, online meetings, WhatsApp, and others. Scammers may use fictitious official partnership projects or business testing scenarios to gain users’ trust, then ask them to transfer funds to designated recipients, resulting in financial losses.
I. Common Scam Tactics
Please be alert to the following potentially risky situations:
Impersonating official representatives and fabricating partnership projects
Bad actors may use Gate-related names, profile pictures, or other identity information to contact users through social media, instant messaging tools, and other channels. They may claim that the platform is recruiting merchants, testing new payment features, upgrading fiat deposit and withdrawal processes, or inviting users to participate in internal testing.
Common scam scripts revealed:

Using fake business scenarios to gain trust
Scammers may invite you to online meetings such as Google Meet and create the illusion that a project is legitimate and its processes are formal by involving multiple participants, demonstrating business workflows, or using professional terminology.
Requesting transfers on the pretext of testing or verification
Scammers may claim that you need to scan a QR code, make a payment to a designated account, or complete a test through a specific payment channel to verify payment functionality, activate business permissions, or complete system operations.
Please note:Do not assume that a requested financial transaction is safe, compliant, or authorized by the platform simply because the other party claims to be conducting platform testing, can provide a meeting link, or displays relevant identity information. Verify through multiple channels before conducting any financial transaction.
Using official verification information to enhance credibility
Scammers may display official verification pages, cite genuine official information, or mislead users by exploiting the connection between identity information and verification results.
II. How can you identify and prevent these risks?
To protect the security of your account and assets, please follow these security recommendations:
Verify identities through official channels. If you are contacted by someone claiming to be a Gate representative, independently verify their identity through the official channels published on the Gate website. You can visit theofficial verification page:https://www.gate.com/officialverify.Please note that successful verification does not mean that it is safe to conduct financial business through that channel!!! There may still be incorrect entries, compromised accounts, phishing websites, and other risks. For formal business involving funds, please communicate through the verified official website email address support@gate.com or reconfirm with customer support before proceeding.

Treat unverified testing invitations with caution. For invitations involving alleged merchant recruitment, internal testing, payment system upgrades, fiat deposit or withdrawal process testing, and similar activities, first confirm their authenticity with Gate official customer support or other relevant official channels.
Never transfer funds to unverified recipients. Before making a transfer, confirm the details multiple times and compare information from multiple sources to verify its authenticity. Do not scan QR codes from unknown sources, make payments to personal or third-party accounts, or transfer funds through designated payment channels at another party’s request. Be especially alert to payment requests made on the grounds of testing, verification, activation, or unlocking features.
Do not readily trust external meetings or social media accounts. Meeting links such as Google Meet, Telegram accounts, group member identities, and screenshots or files provided by the other party cannot independently prove that they have received official authorization from Gate.
Protect your account and personal information. Never disclose your password, SMS verification code, two-factor authentication code, API key, or wallet private key to others. Do not enter your account credentials on unverified websites or pages.

IV. Important Security Reminders
Gate always recommends that users obtain platform information through official channels and remain cautious about any transaction involving the transfer of funds.
Please remember: identity verification does not equal business authorization, attending a meeting does not mean that a project is legitimate, and claims of testing do not constitute a valid reason to transfer funds. Do not make any payment or asset transfer until you can independently verify the authenticity of the business and the flow of funds.
If you discover any suspected impersonation of Gate representatives or scams using the Gate brand, please report it promptly through official channels.
Thank you for supporting Gate. Please stay security-conscious, verify information carefully, and help maintain a secure and reliable trading environment.
