About Deposits

Is USDx a cryptocurrency?
No. USDx is not a cryptocurrency. It is a unit of account used by the platform to display your balance in U.S. dollars. USDx is pegged 1:1 to USDT-denominated assets.

Why did my USDT become USDx? Will I incur any losses?
No, you will not incur any losses. When you transfer USDT to your CFD account, the system displays it as USDx to meet regulatory compliance requirements. Your assets remain 100% backed by USDT. No manual conversion is required, and there are no additional fees or custody fees.
Currently, the platform supports transferring USDT, USDC, USD1, and GUSD to CFD accounts. When transferring non-USDT assets, the system first instantly converts them to USDT before completing the transfer. The conversion rate is based on the real-time exchange rate.

Can I withdraw USDx?
No. USDx is neither fiat currency nor a cryptocurrency. It is only used as the accounting and display unit for CFD assets. You can transfer your CFD assets back to your Gate account and then withdraw USDT as usual.

Why use USDx?
USDx helps us display your balance clearly and consistently while meeting regulatory standards. Your funds remain under your control at all times and are 100% backed by USDT.

About Accounts

Does CFD (MT5) support sub-accounts?
No. MT5 does not support sub-accounts. Only a Gate main account can open a CFD (MT5) account.

What is the difference between the master password and the read-only password?
The master password gives you full access to your MT5 account, allowing you to view account information and trade. The read-only password only allows you to log in and view account information; it cannot be used for trading. The system automatically generates an initial password when the account is opened. You can click [Reset] to change it.

How are CFD products on CFD (MT5) settled?
All CFD products are settled in U.S. dollars, while your deposit currency is USDT. When you trade CFDs, the system automatically handles the conversion between USDT and U.S. dollars.

About Trading

CFD Contract Leverage
Different CFDs offer different leverage levels (forex contracts can offer leverage of up to 500x). You can view the relevant information in the contract details and choose the leverage level that best suits your needs.

What are the maximum numbers of orders and positions for CFD contracts?
You can place up to 300 orders and hold up to 300 positions.

Are there any special rules for the XAUUSD market?
For 1000x XAUUSD, the maximum trade size per order is 0.1 lots, with a total position limit of 0.5 lots.

Why can’t I add to an existing position?
CFD contracts use an independent position mode. Each time you open a position by buying or selling, the system creates and manages a separate position. Using AAPL as an example:
If you buy 1 lot at 300 and then buy 1 lot at 310, the system will create 2 separate AAPL long positions, with average entry prices of 300 and 310, respectively.

Why does my equity still fluctuate when my long and short positions have the same number of lots?
CFD positions calculate unrealized profit and loss based on counterparty prices. Changes in the bid-ask spread may alter the difference in unrealized P&L between long and short positions, affecting your equity. Using AAPL as an example:
Assume that you hold 1 lot in a long position at 300 and 1 lot in a short position at 310. The best ask price is 305.2, the best bid price is 305.0, and the spread is 2. At this point, the unrealized P&L of your long position is 5.2 USDx, while the unrealized P&L of your short position is 5 USDx, for a total unrealized P&L of 10.2 USDx. If the spread widens to 4, with the best ask price changing to 305.3 USDx and the best bid price changing to 304.9 USDx, the total unrealized P&L becomes 10.4 USDx. In this case, the long and short position sizes are fully hedged, but your equity will still increase.
