UN Warns Global Temperature Likely to Exceed 1.5°C Threshold This Decade

According to the UN Environment Programme, on September 2, a new report warned that global temperatures are likely to exceed the 1.5 degrees Celsius threshold within the coming years. The report called for measures to limit the magnitude and duration of overshoot above that threshold, with the goal of bringing temperatures back below 1.5°C as soon as possible.
