Turkey's CPI Falls to 31.5% in August, September Rate Cut Bets Rise

According to Jin10, Turkey's inflation cooled more than expected in August, bolstering market bets for a rate cut as early as September. The country's statistics office reported Thursday that August consumer price inflation fell to 31.5% year-over-year, down from 31.8% in July—the third consecutive monthly decline. Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahhan said last month that second-quarter demand is cooling, which could help offset some inflation risks tied to the Iran-related conflict.
