Why Did Velodrome (VELODROME) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

The merger migration plan announced on October 16 sets an exchange ratio of 0.044 AERO for each VELODROME, with the associated trading pair scheduled to cease trading at 03:00 UTC on November 3. The fixed ratio provides a valuation reference ahead of migration; if AERO strengthens, VELODROME’s implied value at that ratio also rises, which could attract follow-on buying, but this does not establish the cause of the move. On October 20–21, the top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was 1.51, indicating a slight bid-side advantage. However, absolute depth was low and the spread was about 2.5%, so even medium-sized orders could have a noticeable impact; the order-book signal should be considered in light of these liquidity constraints.

About Velodrome (VELODROME)

The core of Velodrome Finance is the Optimism protocol solution to appropriately incentivize the liquidity of its own use cases. Building on the foundation laid by Solidly, our team has addressed the core issues of the first iteration to achieve its full potential. Velodrome Finance uses two tokens to manage its utility and governance: the ERC-20 utility token of the VELO protocol, which is used to reward liquidity providers through emissions$ VEVELO - ERC-721 governance token in the form of NFT (Non fungible Token), used for governance. Any $VELO holder can vote to host their tokens and receive $veVELO (also known as veNFT) in exchange. Additional tokens can be added to $veVELO NFT at any time.

Use Cases and Features

VELO is the ERC-20 utility token of the Velodrome protocol, used to coordinate liquidity incentives. Holders can lock VELO to create veVELO—an NFT representing governance rights—and vote on where emissions are directed. Voters can receive protocol fees and voting incentives; liquidity providers can participate in VELO emission rewards after staking their positions in the reward pool.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

VELO is used through the protocol’s emissions mechanism to incentivize participants with staked liquidity positions. The share of emissions available to each liquidity pool is determined by veVELO holder votes; providers’ actual rewards also depend on their positions and staking status.
