Over the first ten years of operation of the Global Synchronizer, 100 billion Canton Coins can be minted, with availability split 50/50 between infrastructure providers and application providers. Following the first ten years, 2.5 billion Canton Coins can be minted yearly, with approximately 50% going to application providers and 50% going to infrastructure providers. The allocation of Canton Coins that can be minted by infrastructure providers is shared between Validators and Super Validators. Initially, this distribution will be biased towards bootstrapping the Super Validator network, as the Super Validators bear the costs of deploying and maintaining early infrastructure. Over time, the allocation of Canton Coins that can be minted by Super Validators will decrease significantly after the first few years of the Global Synchronizer’s operation. Five years after launch, the pool of Canton Coin that can be minted by Validators will be larger than the pool available to Super Validators.
