On September 13th, Jinshi Data reported that on September 12th local time, a report jointly released by the Amazon Environmental Research Institute and other institutions showed that in August this year, the original rainforest in the Brazilian Amazon that was burned exceeded 685,000 hectares, a rise of 132% compared with the same period last year. The report pointed out that in August this year, the area of original forest burned accounted for 34% of the destroyed area of the Amazon rainforest that month, which is higher than 12% in 2019 and is the highest record in the past five years.
