According to arrangements, Powell’s chairmanship will end on May 15. Trump said in an interview, “If he doesn’t leave, I will have to fire him.” It is reported that Trump’s nominee to succeed Powell, Woshang, has not yet been confirmed by the Senate, which means Powell may continue to serve as “acting chair” during the transition period.

Powell previously also stated that if his successor is not confirmed, he will continue to serve legally. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Justice is currently investigating the renovation project of the Federal Reserve headquarters.
