According to CCTV News: On March 27, the first international commercial mediation academy in the country, jointly established by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Justice, the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education, Harbin University of Commerce, and the Heilongjiang Provincial Mediation Association, was officially established.

With the deepening of opening up, the demand for resolving international commercial disputes is becoming increasingly urgent. The establishment of this academy aims to address the shortfall of talent in foreign-related commercial mediation and to serve the construction of a new highland for northern opening up. The academy innovatively constructs a “dual mentor system with Chinese and foreign instructors and a segmented training model,” breaking through the disciplinary boundaries between traditional law and business, deepening interdisciplinary research between law, technology, and economics, and exploring new mechanisms for integrated undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral training with dual degree programs.

The academy mainly conducts degree education, training of talents in foreign-related commercial mediation, and academic research in international commercial mediation, with enrollment for degree education starting in September. After graduation, students will work in legal service organizations such as commercial mediation organizations and arbitration institutions to engage in the resolution of foreign-related civil and commercial disputes.
