It is a token for network and product functionality and does not represent equity, debt, or a claim on the earnings of Vulcan Forged. Its cross-game positioning means that users can use PYR earned or held in one ecosystem game to purchase assets in another game in the Vulcan Foundation ecosystem; the assets and features actually available remain governed by the rules of the relevant game or application.

PYR can be used in the Vulcan Forged ecosystem to buy or sell marketplace assets, purchase game assets, and serve as an interoperable asset for purchases across different games. Earlier official materials also list uses such as marketplace trading, certain NFT land- or character-related features, and Vulcandex staking and farms; whether these uses are available and their rules depend on the specific product. For example, for the marketplace, official materials require users to transfer PYR from the Main Wallet to the Market Wallet before they can take part in marketplace interactions such as auctions and trades. This shows that “holding PYR” and “having met the operating requirements of a particular application” are two different states.

The official tokenomics page lists PYR's total token supply as 50,000,000 tokens. Total supply is a token-quantity measure and cannot be used to infer the actual circulating supply, trading depth, price, or future returns at any given time.

What role does PYR play on the Elysium network, and what changed with the ELY migration?

In Elysium's June 2026 migration, PYR replaced the former ELY as the native Gas token; thereafter, Elysium on-chain transaction fees are paid in PYR, and ELY was retired. This change integrated the formerly separate Gas token and ecosystem utility token into PYR, but it does not change the condition that users must still keep sufficient PYR in their wallets to send transactions. The migration began with a snapshot and maintenance at 16:00 GMT on June 1, 2026. When the chain resumed on June 2, PYR became the native Gas token. Users already holding Elysium PYR did not need to take action: their old ERC-20 PYR received native PYR at 1:1 at the same wallet address; former ELY balances in VulcanX were automatically converted to PYR. Old liquidity pools were replaced by new native PYR/wPYR pools, and the official guidance required Elysium Swap liquidity providers to remove liquidity before the snapshot.

How does PYR locking or staking work in the gaming ecosystem?

PYR can be used as a locking token in specific ecosystem products, but the purpose of locking, whether it can be exited, and how rewards are calculated all depend on the product rules. In VulcanVerse, for example, when users upgrade their land or God level, they must lock a certain amount of PYR, in addition to paying a non-refundable PYR fee, to retain the corresponding level; removing locked tokens lowers the level to that corresponding to the remaining locked amount. The official tokenomics page also describes land locking as eligible for monthly rewards: allocation is related to the proportion of pool tokens locked by a user out of all locked pool tokens. The 10 million PYR, 48-month reward pool listed on that page is the allocation arrangement described there and should not be understood as a fixed yield or universal rule for all PYR staking scenarios.
