Oxygen Protocol (OXYP) Price

OXY is the utility and governance token of Oxygen Protocol. Oxygen is financial infrastructure that organizes lending and trading through pools; OXY is positioned on the official website as enabling participation in protocol governance and access to discounts related to protocol usage fees. OXY is not itself a lent asset, nor does it automatically constitute a lending position or fixed income. Lending, trading, liquidation, and token governance are different roles and processes within the protocol and should be understood separately.

Oxygen organizes asset use by pool: users can lend assets to earn yield, or borrow assets from a pool and pay interest to the pool; users can also trade directly around pools and use assets in the pool as collateral to access more complex products. The pool model concentrates assets available for lending, trading, and collateral use within pools, but it does not eliminate risk. Borrowers may still be affected by collateral price changes and liquidation; lenders' actual outcomes are also affected by interest rates, asset risk, pool liquidity, and protocol rules.

OXY holdings are associated with discounts on protocol usage fees. The official fee table expresses fees for both lenders and borrowers as a certain percentage of the “clearing rate”: 15% for holding 0 tokens, 13.5% for 100 tokens, 12% for 1,000 tokens, 10.5% for 10,000 tokens, 9% for 100,000 tokens, and 7.5% for 1,000,000 tokens. This means that higher OXY holdings correspond to a lower applicable protocol fee percentage in the table; it does not mean that the borrowing rate itself is fixed at these numbers. For example, if the clearing rate for a transaction is R, the fee at the 0-token tier is calculated as 15% × R, while the fee at the 1,000,000-token tier is calculated as 7.5% × R. Final costs or lenders' net yield still depend on the actual clearing rate and applicable protocol rules.

OXY is used for protocol governance, with one vote per token. Holders can vote on binding governance matters concerning how Oxygen Protocol operates, how community funds are used, and how the protocol's net revenue is returned to the Oxygen network. One token, one vote means voting power is measured by the number of tokens; it does not amount to corporate equity in Oxygen.org AG or another entity. Whether a governance proposal is introduced, passed, and implemented still depends on the governance process at the time and valid voting results.

OXY's initial total supply was 10 billion tokens. The allocation listed on the official website is: Community Fund 45%, Product and Technology Growth 25%, Team 10%, Private Sale 10%, Partners 8%, and IEO 2%. These percentages total 100% of the initial supply. Allocation percentages describe initial allocation categories and do not directly equal the circulating supply or immediately tradable amount at a given time. The page further states that 88% of all tokens, including private-sale tokens, are locked for more than six years; therefore, understanding tradable supply also requires distinguishing total supply, allocation, locking, and actual unlocking.

The Oxygen page lists network fees, trading fees, and liquidation fees as potential protocol fee sources: network fees may be a portion of lenders' earned yield, trading fees may be charged based on trading volume, asset management pools, and other factors, and there are also liquidation fees. Whether fees are charged and how they are calculated are subject to the rules of the protocol as actually deployed. Therefore, protocol “fees” are not a single item: lending, trading, and liquidation may correspond to different triggering scenarios. A user's final cost or net yield must be assessed together with the operation performed, fees at the time, interest or yield, and the applicable OXY fee tier.

The official website describes a declining total supply as a design feature: it proposes using 100% of protocol fees to buy back and burn OXY, and states that protocol net revenue will benefit holders through token buybacks and burns, among other methods. This statement is a token-mechanism objective and should not be treated as a record that buybacks or burns have occurred in every period. Even if buybacks and burns are implemented in the future, their amount will also depend on actual protocol fees, execution decisions, market conditions, and on-chain execution results. Only verifiable execution records can show that a particular burn occurred; a mechanism description alone cannot guarantee the pace of supply reduction, price performance, or holder returns.

The official website labels OXY staking rewards as “coming soon,” meaning the page presents them as a future feature rather than confirmed rewards currently available. Therefore, holding or locking OXY should not be understood as directly generating staking yield now. If the related feature launches, its eligibility requirements, locking method, reward source, calculation basis, claiming rules, and withdrawal restrictions will still need to be considered at that time. Only after these rules are actually published and executable can it be determined how staking participation affects token status and returns.

Protocol usage, trading, and liquidation activities may generate fees; under the deployed fee model, OXY holdings can change the fee percentage applicable to users; if a future buyback-and-burn mechanism is implemented as designed, protocol fees may also be used to buy back and burn OXY. Their relationship is a chain of “protocol activity—fees—potential token mechanism,” rather than a direct guarantee of price. Whether this chain actually affects OXY's tradable supply or market demand depends on conditions such as whether the protocol is used, whether fees are generated, whether discounts drive holdings, whether governance or buyback mechanisms are implemented, and market liquidity. Increased protocol activity by itself does not mean the token price will necessarily rise.

Lenders provide assets to pools to receive corresponding yield; borrowers borrow assets from pools and pay interest; traders can use pools directly for trading; and OXY holders can obtain fee-tier discounts through their holdings and participate in governance on a one-token, one-vote basis. One address can take on multiple roles, but the rules for each role differ. In particular, a lender's or borrower's pool position is not the same asset relationship as an OXY governance-token holding. The former involves lending interest, collateral, and liquidation risk, while the latter involves fee tiers and governance rights; do not infer ownership of a pool position from holding OXY.
