Why Did NEM (XEM) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

XEM’s order book and technical indicators point to low liquidity and a weak trend. In the order-book snapshot on 2026-11-05, the top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was 2.49, but bids were concentrated nearer the market while a large sell order sat at a higher price, indicating an uneven distribution of orders on either side. Orders can change, so this is not a definitive support or resistance level. A one-hour candle from the same period recorded volume of about 166,000 XEM, equivalent to roughly $53 at the price then, indicating thin trading at that sampling point. ADX was below 25 across the 15-minute through daily timeframes; the four-hour moving averages were bearish, but MACD gave no signal and most indicators on other timeframes were neutral. These signals do not confirm a trend. The asset’s small market capitalization also means relatively small flows may have a sizable effect, so the order-book and technical data do not establish a sustained trend.

About NEM (XEM)

The NEM blockchain project, founded in 2015, is a digital asset management platform that can be created according to demand, including financial technology system, logistics tracking system, first token issuance, notarization, decentralized authentication, etc. Since the system is an open, decentralized and self-supporting NEM public blockchain, not only anyone can use the NEM blockchain completely independently, but also developers can build on the NEM. Xem is the native token of NEM network, which can make instant payment and transfer anywhere in the world. Xem can also be used to pay transfer fees, create tokens, encrypt information or other features.

Use Cases and Features

XEM is the native token of the NEM network. It is used to pay transfer and service fees and to incentivize participants who maintain network infrastructure. NEM uses a “harvesting” mechanism to generate blocks: eligible accounts can participate locally or through delegation and receive the transaction fees in blocks.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

All XEM was issued in NEM's genesis block, and the network does not continuously mint new XEM through block rewards. Block participants are rewarded mainly with transaction fees in the blocks they generate; historically, some XEM was reserved for the Supernode Program.
