It allows API providers to operate Airnode nodes directly, bringing data onto blockchains without intermediaries, thereby reducing trust costs. Developers can subscribe to data feeds (dAPIs) via the API3 Market, activate them within minutes, and integrate them into contracts. The protocol also introduces the OEV Network, which auctions oracle update opportunities and returns the proceeds to dApps, creating an additional revenue stream. Governance is conducted by the API3 DAO, where token holders can participate in decision-making and stake to secure the network.
