Why Did Lido DAO Token (LDO) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

On 2026-11-05, Lido’s Node Operator Mechanism working group proposed updating its MEV policy for Ethereum ePBS: the plan pairs a permissionless market with a whitelisted market, requires validators to keep receiving p2p bids, and directs MEV rewards to the Lido EL Rewards Vault. A vote was planned for November, but the policy would take effect only after the Ethereum mainnet completes the Glamsterdam upgrade, leaving a delay between governance and implementation. Technical indicators showed no consistent direction: RSI was neutral, MACD had no crossover, and short-term moving averages were bullish while the daily average was bearish. At 13:00 on 2026-11-05, hourly trading volume was low and the top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was 1.03, showing no marked imbalance. These signals are more consistent with limited-volatility consolidation than with a confirmed trend.

About Lido DAO Token (LDO)

Lido DAO is a decentralized autonomous organization that enables users to stake Ether and receive daily rewards while keeping full control of their staked tokens. It works by allowing users to deposit Ether into a smart contract, which is then locked into the Ethereum proof-of-stake deposit contract, and staked Ether will be withdrawable only when transfers and smart contracts are implemented on Ethereum 2.0.

Use Cases and Features

LDO is the governance token of the Lido DAO. The Lido DAO handles key governance matters for the liquid staking protocol, such as fees, node operators, oracles, and protocol upgrades. Holding LDO allows participation in related votes, and voting power generally increases with the amount of LDO held by an address; therefore, LDO's core use is participation in protocol governance, rather than representing a receipt for staked ETH.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

LDO is an ERC-20 governance token on Ethereum, used for on-chain and off-chain voting in the Lido DAO. Its balance snapshot mechanism calculates voting power from balances before voting begins, aiming to reduce the effect of temporary transactions during voting on voting power.
