What is FOREX?

Therefore, FOREX's uses should be understood together with the protocol's participation rules. It does not itself represent a holder's right to redeem a fiat currency at a fixed ratio, nor should it be confused with the fxToken stablecoins issued by the protocol.

veFOREX is governance power formed from FOREX and is used to participate in handle.fi protocol governance. The official tokenomics also links veFOREX to reward boosts for designated protocol-contribution activities, with a maximum boost of up to 2.5x. This does not mean “simply holding FOREX automatically provides the maximum reward.” The reward boost depends on whether a participant forms veFOREX according to protocol rules and whether their activity falls within the applicable contribution or incentive scope; governance power and reward eligibility should also be understood separately.

The tokenomics specifies that 420 million tokens are minted over the initial 182 weeks; after that stage ends, supply enters a terminal inflation mechanism of 2.1% per year. Two stages need to be distinguished here: 420 million describes the quantity in the initial minting stage, while 2.1% describes the rule under which supply continues to grow afterward. The actual use of subsequently issued tokens should still be understood in light of the protocol's emission and incentive arrangements at the time; the initial quantity should not be misread as an absolute total-supply cap.

The remaining allocation also covers the team and advisors, strategic partners, the community TGE, and DAO and community rewards. Allocation categories indicate intended reserved uses; they do not mean tokens in every category are all circulating at the same time. Specific vesting or emission rules must also be considered when assessing supply effects.
