Why Did BitTorrent (BTT) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

The first BTT burn supported by service revenue amounted to about 21.62 trillion tokens, worth approximately $7.6 million, linking service revenue to a reduction in supply. However, cumulative ecosystem buybacks and burns involved multiple tokens and cannot be attributed entirely to BTT. Expanding staking utility in BTTC may improve expectations for holding demand, but remains a potential factor without data such as additional staking or capital flows. At 09:00 UTC on 2026-11-03, buy volume across the top five order-book levels was about 5.98 times sell volume, while the largest bid represented roughly 94.4% of the buy side. Such a concentrated order may offer short-term support but does not establish actual buying. Technical signals were neutral overall, with conflicting short-term and daily directions and no confirmation of a sustained trend.

About BitTorrent (BTT)

BitTorrent is a decentralized infrastructure ecosystem spanning peer-to-peer content distribution, decentralized computing, and blockchain scaling and settlement. Its three core products are BitTorrent, the P2P content distribution network; BTTInferGrid, the decentralized AI inference compute network; and BitTorrent Chain (BTTC), the scaling and settlement network. BTT is the ecosystem’s utility token, supporting resource payments, gas fees, node incentives, staking, and governance.

Use Cases and Features

BTT is the native utility token of BitTorrent Chain (BTTC). It can be used to pay network Gas fees, participate in governance, and stake. Users can stake BTT with validators or participate in network security as delegators; in BitTorrent Speed, downloaders can bid BTT to uploaders to improve download speeds, while uploaders receive token incentives by continuing to seed.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

BTT underwent a redenomination in 2021: the original BTT was renamed BTTOLD, and the new BTT corresponded to a conversion ratio of 1 BTTOLD to 1,000 BTT. This adjustment changed the token unit and quantity representation without changing the total value of holdings before and after the conversion.
