AavegotchiDAO voted to close the curve on March 10, 2023. The closure meant that this issuance path ended, and the Ethereum total supply listed by the official materials was subsequently fixed at 52,747,802 tokens; this is a separate stage from subsequent burns occurring on Polygon.

The difference between these figures is not two separate issuance plans, but whether burned quantities in the cross-chain ecosystem are included in the calculation.

When using it across networks, first select the network that matches the application or recipient; contracts and balance records for tokens with the same name differ across networks. Sending assets to an incompatible network, or treating balances on different networks as a single directly usable balance, creates operational risk.

What role is GHST planned to have in Gotchichain?

Gotchichain is still described in official documentation as an “upcoming” Gaming L3. Under this plan, GHST will be used as the gas token for its non-sponsored transactions: users will need to pay a small amount of GHST so that transactions incur a cost, helping to curb spam transactions and unnecessary congestion.
