PPG completes 200th dry docking using electrostatic application

PPG (NYSE: PPG) has completed its 200th vessel dry docking using electrostatic application of marine fouling control coatings, a method introduced three years ago. This breakthrough technique was used on the Stena Britannica, a vessel operated by Stena Line, applying PPG SIGMAGLIDE® 2390 coating at the EDR Antwerp shipyard. The electrostatic method significantly improves paint transfer efficiency and reduces waste and carbon emissions compared to traditional methods, contributing to sustainability goals for the shipping industry.
