Jin10 reported on September 27 that on September 27 local time, Thai Army spokesman Winthai Suvari stated that around 12:00 to 12:30 PM, the Second Army Area of Thailand reported that Cambodian soldiers were firing weapons towards the Thai side in Ubon Ratchathani. The Thai military retaliated based on the situation. The Thai Army spokesman indicated that the Cambodian side frequently led the ASEAN temporary observation team to the area for inspections, therefore it is speculated that this incident was a "deliberate provocation", intending to force the Thai military to fire or take offensive action, and then present it as evidence to the ASEAN temporary observation team to accuse the Thai side of violating the ceasefire measures. The Thai Army spokesman stated that as of now, the Thai side has not received any reports of casualties. There has been no response from the Cambodian side regarding this latest statement.
