How to Bind Your Phone Number

1. On the Web

Step 1: Log in to your Gate account. Click your avatar in the top right corner, go to “Security”, and under Basic, click “Turn On” next to SMS Verification.

Step 2: On the binding page, enter your phone number and click “Send Code” to receive the SMS verification code. Then enter the email/Google Authenticator code. Once verified, click “Confirm” to complete the binding.

On the App

Step 1: Open the Gate App and log in to your account. Tap your avatar in the top left corner of the homepage, tap it again to enter your profile, then go to “Security” - “Phone Number”.

Step 2: On the binding page, enter your country/region code, phone number, SMS code, and Google Authenticator code in sequence. Once verified, tap “Link” to bind successfully.

How to Unbind Your Phone Number

There are two scenarios for unbinding:

Scenario 1: You Can Still Receive Verification Codes

On App:
Step 1: Log in to the Gate App, tap the avatar on the homepage, then tap again to access your profile, go to “Security” - “Phone Number”.

Step 2: Follow the instructions to enter the required information. Once verified, tap “Remove” to complete. If you need to switch to a new phone number, simply follow the binding steps again.

On Web:
Step 1: Log in to Gate on Web, go to your Avatar - “Security” - “Basic” - “SMS Verification” - “Unbind”.

Step 2: Fill in the required information and click “Confirm” to finish unbinding. If you need to switch to a new phone number, simply follow the binding steps again.

Scenario 2: You Can’t Receive Verification Codes (e.g., SIM Deactivated)

If your current phone number is no longer active and you are unable to receive SMS codes, you can request to unbind via one of the methods below:
1.Use the Security Form to submit an unbinding request. Fill in the required information as prompted. Your request will be reviewed within 1–3 business days.

2.Submit a support ticket or email support@gate.com with a detailed explanation of your issue. Be sure to include the following details:

  • Your Gate username and user ID
  • Your registered email, full name, and city of registration
  • Your recently traded crypto assets
  • A photo of you holding your ID, along with a handwritten note that includes your Gate account details, date, a statement explaining your request (e.g. Request to unbind phone number), and
  • Your bound phone number
