Warren specifically questioned whether X Money would issue its own stablecoin under the exemptions related to the GENIUS Act, and whether users are adequately informed that their funds are not protected by FDIC deposit insurance. The letter also mentioned that a test preview of X Money indicated it might offer a 6% deposit rate and collaborate with Cross River Bank, which has previously faced FDIC enforcement actions.
