Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned Israel’s military operations in Lebanon on March 31, calling it an “illegal invasion” that infringes on Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Carney said, “Lebanon needs a ceasefire. (Israel’s military actions) are an illegal invasion, violating Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.” He also stated that the Lebanese government is working to take action in response to Hezbollah’s “threats” against Israel, which is the reason Israel claims for the invasion. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on March 29 said he had instructed the Israel Defense Forces to expand the “buffer zone” in southern Lebanon. On March 31, Israeli Defense Minister Katz said that after the current conflict ends, Israel will continue to control the “buffer zone” south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon. (CCTV News)
