4月7日，富华国际集团发布讣告称，集团荣誉主席、中国紫檀博物馆馆长陈丽华女士，因病医治无效，于2026年4月5日在北京逝世，享年85岁。

On April 7th, Fuhua International Group issued an obituary stating that Ms. Chen Lihua, Honorary Chairman of the group and director of the Chinese Rosewood Museum, passed away in Beijing on April 5, 2026, at the age of 85 due to ineffective medical treatment.

陈丽华1941年10月出生于北京，满族。美国佐治亚州萨凡那艺术设计学院荣誉人文博士及终身荣誉董事，第八、九、十、十一、十二届全国政协委员，第十一、十二届全国政协港澳台侨委员会副主任，中国侨商投资企业协会常务副会长，北京侨商会会长，北京满学会终身名誉会长。2011年和2012年，陈丽华女士连续两年入选了《福布斯》“全球最具影响力百名女性”。2012年，陈丽华女士荣膺美国《时代周刊》“全球最具影响力百人榜”。

Born in October 1941 in Beijing, Ms. Chen Lihua is of Manchu ethnicity. She holds an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree and is a lifelong honorary director from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, USA. She served as a member of the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese Committee of the 11th and 12th CPPCC, executive vice president of the China Overseas Chinese Business Investment Enterprise Association, president of the Beijing Overseas Chinese Business Association, and lifelong honorary president of the Beijing Manchu Society. In 2011 and 2012, she was listed for two consecutive years among Forbes’ “100 Most Influential Women in the World.” In 2012, she was named on Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” list.

據《中国企业家杂志》报道，据陈丽华自己透露，她是满族正黄旗，叶赫那拉氏的第八代后裔，出生于颐和园，但她并不是一个幸运的“格格”，家境清贫，从高中就辍学了。

According to China Entrepreneur Magazine, and as Ms. Chen Lihua revealed herself, she is of Manchu Zhenghuang Banner, Yekhena clan, eighth-generation descendant, born in the Summer Palace. However, she was not a fortunate “Gongzhu” (princess), coming from a poor family and dropping out of high school.

According to the book “26 Most Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs” published by China Business Publishing House, Chen Lihua was born in the Summer Palace, and her family was impoverished during her childhood, dropping out of high school. In the 1960s, she started a furniture repair business and later established a furniture factory. Chen Lihua has expressed “gratitude for poverty,” saying “poverty is the best university.”

In 1982, Chen Lihua moved to Hong Kong to engage in international trade and real estate investment. Her first major capital came from her activities in Hong Kong. In 1988, Chen Lihua founded Fuhua International Group in Hong Kong. The group’s main industries now include real estate development and management, culture and arts, and health. According to official website information, Fuhua International leverages its complete real estate value chain to operate a diverse range of real estate businesses, including large office parks, office buildings, high-end clubs, hotel apartments, shopping malls, and residential properties.

According to The Paper, Chen Lihua was the most well-known and long-standing stable Chinese female billionaire on Forbes China’s early billionaire list. Data shows that in 2001, on Forbes China’s Top 100 Richest in Mainland China, Chen Lihua ranked 6th with a wealth of 5.5 billion yuan, becoming the richest woman in mainland China.

According to China News Agency, the 2016 Hurun Women’s Rich List shows that Beijing real estate queen, 75-year-old Chen Lihua, with 50.5 billion yuan in wealth, became China’s richest woman for the first time. Yang Huiyan and Zhou Qunfei ranked second and third. Moreover, in 2016, Chen Lihua was also recognized as the most successful female entrepreneur globally, i.e., the top self-made female billionaire in the world.

Ms. Chen Lihua’s husband, Chi Chongrui, is a well-known Chinese performing artist, famous for playing Tang Seng in the classic Chinese novel “Journey to the West.” They married in 1990.

1988年，陈丽华与当时堪称“国民偶像”的迟重瑞相识。陈丽华比迟重瑞大11岁，又离过婚，有三个孩子，当时她已经47岁。她在《鲁豫有约》中坦承是自己倒追的迟重瑞，“迟先生那么漂亮，很多女人排队追”。

In 1988, Chen Lihua met Chi Chongrui, who was considered a “national idol” at the time. Chen was 11 years younger than Chi, had been divorced, and had three children. She was already 47 years old at that time. She openly admitted on “A Date with Lu Yu” that she was the one who pursued Chi Chongrui, saying, “Mr. Chi is so handsome, many women were lining up to pursue him.”

Chen Lihua replied, “There was pressure, I didn’t think about the consequences at the time. I have never indulged in Mr. Chi. What I seek is companionship, life.” Chi Chongrui said, “Acting can be for a moment, but not for a lifetime. We don’t need to declare our love; time will tell everything.”
