People Finance News on March 26, the Ministry of Commerce issued a notice on the implementation guidance for 2026 annual beef safeguard measures. According to Ministry of Commerce Announcement No. 87 of 2025, beef imported from Australia had reached 50% of the quantity prescribed for the current year in Attachment 2 to that announcement as of March 25, 2026. From the 3rd day after the imported beef reaches the quantity prescribed for the current year in Attachment 2 to that announcement (inclusive of that day), an additional 55% tariff will be levied on top of the currently applicable tariff rate.
