I remember last year there was so much hype around Web3 games — people were literally hunting for airdrops and rewards. I came across a list of ten projects that really stood out in April-May 2025. It’s worth recalling what was happening in this segment back then. Reams of Alurya was one of the most interesting — they launched an event called “Coin Hunt,” where players fought monsters, collected trophies (yes, even chickens could be found), and earned tokens like RON and ACN. You had to defeat the boss Grommart, gather runes, and forge the “Hunter’s Mark” — this unlocked potential airdrops. Events on the Ronin Network blockchain were open to everyone, and that was cool. Then there was The Lost Glitches — a cyberpunk card game released on Steam on April 29. It featured a deck-building mechanic in RPG style. Cambria was also gaining momentum — the second season “The Paymasters” required purchasing a royal license for 0.02 ETH, but the prize pool already exceeded one million dollars. Pirate Nation constantly rolled out new features — I remember there was a PVP event called “Legend of the Underworld Lord” with 10 million PIRATE tokens as a reward. Only top players could earn them, plus NFT skins themed around Anubis. Engines of Fury launched the third episode of the first season with cooperative mode and voice chat — 100,000 FURY tokens and rare NFTs as prizes. Treeverse started its “Play and Earn” on mobile — you had to buy an NFT for $5 or own a land plot to receive rewards in END, IMX, and MON. Sprite Land launched a zero season on Ronin and Solana, promising to give players 90% of the profits. Ragnarok Monster World was an inspired Clash Royale game where you could earn CROSS tokens. The paradox is that Web3 games back then seemed revolutionary, but many of them remained niche. Imposters was planning to start beta in May, and Paradise Tycoon introduced a new spin-off called Paradise Legends. It’s interesting to see what’s left of all this after a year.
