Uber warns that new restrictions may be implemented for drivers and passengers in Hong Kong

Gate News bot message, Uber Technologies Inc. is sending emails to Hong Kong users expressing concerns about the rules being formulated in Hong Kong and warning that it may limit the number of drivers or vehicles allowed on the platform.

These emails were sent to 30,000 Uber drivers who used the service last year and 1.5 million San Francisco residents.

Hong Kong is expected to release new ride-hailing regulations in the coming months. Last year, Hong Kong introduced a long-awaited but vaguely defined industry regulation plan. These plans include mandatory licensing for ride-hailing platforms and stricter penalties for violations.
