Netflix's limited series The Altruists is in production, and the SBF and Caroline Ellison FTX scandal is coming to the screen.

Netflix is set to release a new limited series of eight episodes titled "The Altruists," starring popular actors Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle. The show tells the story of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) and Caroline Ellison, two controversial figures in the Crypto Assets world, who transformed from "idealists" to "financial scandal protagonists." The series also brings together a top-tier creative team and production company, including Oscar-winning writers, heavyweight directors, and Higher Ground Productions, founded by the Obamas.

From Hero to Fraudster: The Collapse of a Financial Ideal

"The Altruists" will focus on FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison, a pair of young elites who rose and fell rapidly amid the Crypto Assets storm. The series depicts how they attempted to redefine the global financial system with technology and capital, only to become embroiled in a fraud case involving up to $8 billion.

The series is co-produced by Graham Moore, who won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for "The Imitation Game," and veteran series writer Jacqueline Hoyt, known for "The Underground Railroad" and "The Leftovers." Moore stated, "For the past three years, the story of Sam and Caroline has become my daily obsession, and I am very grateful that Netflix and Higher Ground share the same passion for this story. We can't wait to present it to audiences around the world."

The show will feature three-time Emmy Award winner Julia Garner as Caroline Ellison, who has showcased her multi-dimensional acting skills in "Ozark" and "Inventing Anna"; while Anthony Boyle will play Sam Bankman-Fried, the "crypto prodigy" from MIT. Boyle has appeared in "Masters of the Air" and "Say Nothing", earning critical acclaim for his performances.

The collaboration of the two young actors is bound to add sparks to this intricately woven story of love and deception, and it also makes the audience look forward to how the plot will present the love-hate entanglement of "the coin circle Romeo and Juliet."

Award-winning team creates, Netflix and Higher Ground join forces again.

In addition to heavyweight screenwriters and actors, the series also invites director James Ponsoldt, known for "The Spectacular Now" and "Shrinking", to direct the first episode. The production team also includes core members Vinnie Malhotra and Jessie Dicovitsky from Higher Ground Productions, founded by the Obamas, as well as Scoop Wasserstein from New York Magazine/Vox Media Studios.

"The Altruists" is part of a long-term collaboration between Higher Ground and Netflix, during which they have jointly released several successful works, including "Leave the World Behind," "Working: What We Do All Day," and "American Symphony," showcasing their deep concern for social issues and human nature.

When will it be broadcast? Both drama fans and the coin community are waiting.

No official release date for The Altruists has yet to be announced, but the series, inspired by real events and combining emotion, fraud and social criticism, will undoubtedly attract the attention of finance, technology and theater lovers.
