Why Did VeThor (VTHO) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

VeChain’s new tokenomics link VTHO generation to VET staking through the StarGate platform. This is a longer-term change to supply and demand; its actual effect depends on implementation, so its near-term influence is limited. VTHO pays transaction fees on VeChain, and demand is tied to network activity. Technical indicators on 2026-11-07 showed bearish moving averages on the 1-hour and daily charts, while RSI was neutral, MACD showed no crossover, and ADX was below 15 across the measured intervals, indicating weak trend strength. At that time, the top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was 0.75, slightly favoring asks. A single ask-size figure was inconsistent with the stated top-five-level total, and one order-book snapshot cannot establish persistent selling pressure.

About VeThor (VTHO)

VeThor Token (VTHO) is the utility token of the VeChainThor blockchain, serving as gas for transactions, smart contracts, and on-chain activities. Its use is essential for network functionality. VeChain’s dual-token model separates VET (value) from VTHO (utility), ensuring predictable costs and scalability. VTHO is also earned through the StarGate staking program, adding value for users. As a VIP-180 Standard token, it underpins VeChain’s mission to support blockchain adoption and real-world applications. With rising transaction demand driving utility and potential value, VTHO remains a core asset in the expanding VeChain ecosystem.

Use Cases and Features

VeThor (VTHO) is the fuel token of the VeChainThor blockchain, used to pay transaction fees for transfers and smart-contract execution. It uses the VIP-180 fungible token standard and covers network usage costs in VeChainThor’s dual-token model: users consume VTHO to submit transactions, while validators and delegated participants may receive related incentives for maintaining block production.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

VTHO has no fixed maximum supply. Its initial supply at the genesis block was zero and it is subsequently generated by block; issuance changes dynamically with locked or staked VET on the network and network mechanisms. The base fee in transaction fees is burned, while the priority fee is paid to the validator proposing the block, so supply is affected by both generation and fee consumption.
