About USDM (USDM)

Use Cases and Features

USDM is a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Moneta on Cardano for on-chain value transfers denominated in dollars. It moves directly as a native Cardano token, without requiring a smart contract for transfers. Its dollar peg provides the denomination for those transfers, while Cardano's native-token mechanism is what allows USDM to transfer on the network without a smart contract.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

Each USDM is backed one-to-one by dollars or equivalent assets held in segregated reserve accounts. USDM is minted directly as a native Cardano token through a multisignature smart contract and an oracle attestation system. Minting and burning each require reserve verification and multisignature control; these are conditions on both increasing and reducing the token supply.
