Why Did Terra (LUNA) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

In the order-book snapshot from 2026-11-04, the top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was about 0.0048, with substantially more sell than buy depth. This points to thin near-term liquidity, where large sell orders could add short-term price pressure; a single snapshot, however, does not reveal trader intent. The largest buy order was at a deeper level and should not be treated as nearby support. Volume data was unavailable, so it is not possible to tell whether selling pressure coincided with increased trading activity. The delayed LUNC burn concerns a different token and may affect sentiment around the related ecosystem, but it does not directly imply a change in LUNA’s supply. Technical signals were mixed: 15-minute and hourly readings were bullish, the daily reading bearish, and the four-hour reading neutral. The latest candle rose slightly, indicating a local recovery but not confirming a trend reversal.

About Terra (LUNA)

Terra is an algorithm stable currency platform, which runs on the proof of stack (POS) built by tendermint, which is the bottom layer of the equity proof blockchain. Luna is Terra's platform token, which is used for the issuance of terrasdrs, price stabilization mechanism and network governance. Users can use Luna tokens to exchange for terrasdrs stable coins and vice versa. The price stability of such a stable currency is guaranteed. Luna is the mining coin of Terra dpos blockchain, and Terra is supported by Luna. Therefore, miners provide stability and safety. In the exchange, the agreement provides stable mining incentives under all economic conditions by virtue of transaction fees and Seigniorage. Terra is designing a price stable digital currency, which will provide a driving force for the next generation blockchain payment network. Terra has established a global e-commerce alliance with sustained growth of users, bringing the low-cost advantages of blockchain transactions to merchants and consumers. Terra's goal is to connect digital currency with practical applications, grow into an open platform for innovative financial decentralization application (DAPP), and achieve the real growth of blockchain economy. Terra was founded by a group of business, finance and blockchain technology experts with offices in Singapore and South Korea. The price stabilization mechanism of Terra system depends on the Arbitrage Behavior of users. For example, when terrakrw, a stable currency against the standard Korean won, drops to 0.95:1.00, users can use the encrypted currency of 95 Korean won to obtain 100terrakrw on the trading platform, and then exchange it to the terra platform to obtain a Luna token worth 100 Korean won. If the price of terrakrw exceeds 1 won, users can exchange Luna tokens for terrakrw, and then sell it on the trading platform to make a profit. Terra platform hopes to give predictable rewards to network maintainers no matter whether the network economy is

Use Cases and Features

LUNA is the native staking and governance token of the Terra blockchain. Holders can delegate LUNA to validators to help the network validate transactions and earn rewards from transaction fees and new issuance; staked tokens cannot be freely traded. Stakers can also participate in governance voting, with one staked LUNA corresponding to one vote. Unstaking requires a 21-day waiting period, during which tokens cannot be traded and earn no rewards; if a validator violates the rules, delegated staked assets may also be slashed.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

The Terra chain launched in May 2022 with a genesis supply of 1 billion LUNA, allocated to the community pool and to LUNA, aUST, and UST holders in the original Terra Classic ecosystem who met snapshot requirements. Thereafter, the protocol mints new LUNA in every block and uses it for staking rewards for validators and delegators; the documentation lists a fixed annual inflation rate of 7%.
