What is FIS?

It is not an rToken: an rToken is a credential-type asset received after a user brings other stakeable assets into StaFi's liquid staking process, while FIS is the native asset of StaFi Chain itself. Therefore, holding an rToken is not the same as holding or using FIS; they have different roles in the network, represent different assets, and serve different use cases.

Why can FIS be used to pay transaction fees?

When submitting a transfer or another on-chain operation on StaFi Chain, users need to pay the transaction fee in FIS. The transaction fee is the cost of requesting the network to process and record the operation; without sufficient FIS, the transaction generally cannot be submitted or executed. This design links on-chain resource use to cost: each operation requires payment, increasing the cost of sending invalid requests in bulk and preventing network processing resources from being occupied at no cost. The final amount paid depends on the specific transaction and the chain's fee rules, rather than on the transfer amount alone.

What governance can FIS holders participate in?

FIS holders can participate in StaFi Chain's on-chain governance and exercise voting rights on matters such as protocol upgrades and on-chain parameters. Governance allows changes to some network rules to be handled through the on-chain decision-making process of token holders, rather than being determined automatically by ordinary transfers. Being able to submit a proposal does not mean that the proposal takes effect automatically: it must still go through the governance process specified by the chain and meet the applicable voting and approval conditions. FIS provides the right to participate in governance; the matters that can be voted on, thresholds, and execution rules are subject to the on-chain governance rules in force at the time.

What role does FIS staking play in the network?

FIS can be used in StaFi Chain's NPoS (Nominated Proof of Stake) mechanism to support network validation and security. Validators perform network duties such as block production and validation; nominators use FIS to support validators they select, and the network forms validator-support relationships accordingly. Staking does not provide unconditional fixed returns: participants' outcomes depend on the network's election process, validator performance, and applicable reward and penalty rules. Rewards are part of the network incentive mechanism and are generally distributed during validation and settlement processes that meet the rules; if a supported validator is not selected or engages in behavior that does not comply with the rules, the participation outcome may differ.

Is FIS supply fixed?

FIS's initial issuance should not be understood as a permanently fixed supply. Official materials state that its initial issuance was 100 million tokens, while StaFi Chain documentation explains that subsequent annual issuance arrangements exist. Initial issuance describes the starting base at launch; subsequent issuance arrangements affect the supply path afterward. It is also not the same concept as the quantity immediately tradable on the market, because issued tokens may still be staked, locked, or otherwise not immediately tradable.

Are FIS versions on different networks the same?

FIS runs natively on StaFi Chain, and official materials also state that it can be bridged to other networks to form corresponding versions. Although tokens after cross-chain bridging are based on FIS, their network, address format, and available application environment may differ. Before transferring, confirm that the sending network, receiving network, and recipient address match; directly sending assets from one network to an incompatible network or address may prevent the assets from arriving as expected. This article does not treat contract addresses or technical implementations of individual bridged versions as the same verified fact.
