On Redbelly, users pay Gas required for transactions and smart-contract execution in RBNT, but the fee target is denominated in U.S. dollars. A simple native transfer consumes 21,000 Gas, and the documentation gives a target fee of US$0.01, meaning the price per unit of Gas is approximately US$0.000000476190476190; the total fee for contract deployment or calls depends on the Gas actually consumed. During block execution, the network reads the on-chain USD/RBNT price feed and then deducts the amount of RBNT that covers that U.S. dollar fee. Therefore, when the market price of RBNT changes, the amount of RBNT required for the same operation may differ, while the design goal is for its U.S. dollar cost to remain unchanged. This mechanism can estimate the U.S. dollar cost before execution for operations with known Gas usage, but does not mean that every operation is charged a fixed US$0.01.

Redbelly's DBFT is leaderless consensus: nodes jointly propose and validate transactions rather than relying on a single block-producing leader; provided that malicious or faulty nodes are strictly fewer than one-third of the nodes participating in consensus, the documentation states that the network can still reach consensus. Staking is the economic layer that constrains node behavior, while DBFT is the protocol layer through which nodes agree on transaction order and validity.

Therefore, total supply, allocation arrangements, and the amount actually available to circulate should be considered separately, rather than inferring market supply directly from the fixed total.
