Qubic (QUBIC) Price

Qubic is a Layer 1 network; QUBIC is its official ticker and native utility unit. It is not merely a currency for transfers: in Qubic's design, QUBIC measures the “energy” users consume for computation, primarily to execute smart contracts and obtain oracle data. Ordinary transfers within the network do not incur QUBIC fees. Instead, when contract execution or an oracle request consumes QUBIC, the amount consumed is permanently burned rather than paid to validator nodes; transfers, computing services, and node revenue are therefore distinct parts of the system.

QUBIC's direct use is to provide computational energy for smart-contract execution and oracle services. Oracle services bring external data on-chain; when users or applications request these services, they need to consume the corresponding QUBIC. This consumption is not a traditional “fee paid to validators”: official documentation states that QUBIC consumed by contract commissions and services is burned and removed from circulation. Ordinary transfers are fee-free, so whether QUBIC is consumed depends on whether a transaction calls a service that requires computation or external data.

Qubic is designed so that QUBIC consumed by contracts and oracle services is burned rather than transferred to Computors. Burning means that amount is permanently removed from circulation, so it affects active supply rather than becoming direct fee income for a node. Contract commissions are not set arbitrarily: Computors determine the commission amount for executing smart contracts through quorum voting. Once determined, commissions are still burned; Computors' revenue, meanwhile, is related to eligibility and operating performance during an epoch. QUBIC spent in Dutch auctions when new smart contracts conduct IPOs is also burned.

Each Qubic epoch lasts seven days. Official documentation describes the unit generation amount for each epoch as 1 trillion QUBIC, allocated to purposes including Computors, the Computor Controlled Fund, QEarn, and burning; however, the more important point for understanding supply is that the net-emission schedule is not permanently fixed at 1 trillion. The official page states a circulating-supply cap of 200 trillion QUBIC and lists a net-emission schedule that declines by epoch: 1 trillion per epoch for epochs 0–126, 850 billion for 127–174, 450 billion for 175–226, followed by further reductions. The first halving occurred in epoch 175 in August 2025; the Supply Watcher smart contract adjusts emissions based on real-time supply data. Therefore, “generation amount,” “allocation destinations,” “burn amount,” and “net emissions” should not be treated as the same figure.

Useful Proof-of-Work is Qubic's ranking mechanism for selecting Computor eligibility in each epoch. The number of solutions found by AI miners determines the ranking; in each one-week epoch, only the top 676 Computors qualify to participate in consensus. Its “useful” objective is to contribute solutions for Aigarth's AI training, rather than directly validate each transaction through mining as in traditional proof-of-work. After qualifying, Computors execute transfers and smart contracts on Spectrum; if their operating speed or network compatibility is insufficient, they may be unable to retain their position.

Computors are nodes in Qubic that execute transfers and smart contracts. In each epoch, only the 676 Computors ranked highest based on AI miner solution performance may participate; this means participation eligibility is reassessed according to performance rather than fixed permanently. For a particular computation result, at least 451 Computors (more than two-thirds of 676) must agree to form a quorum and confirm the result. This threshold separates “obtaining node eligibility” from “reaching sufficient majority agreement on a specific result”; official documentation also states that Arbitrators do not affect smart-contract execution, voting, or QUBIC distribution.
