QuarkChain's design distributes transaction processing across multiple shards, with a root chain confirming and coordinating shard blocks; this structure aims to enable the network to process work in different shards in parallel, rather than having a single execution chain process all transactions sequentially. For users, sharding means that accounts, assets, and transactions may be associated with a network or shard environment. Before initiating a transfer or interacting with an application, in addition to checking the address, users should confirm the network selected by the wallet and the environment in which the asset is located; directly sending an asset to a correct address but on an incompatible network may still make the asset difficult to use or recover.

The final cost depends on the execution resources actually consumed by the operation and the transaction settings, not solely on the amount of QKC transferred. Ordinary transfers and contract calls may consume different resources, so users should review the fee estimate provided by the wallet or application before submitting and retain QKC for Gas in addition to the amount being sent.

Why are QKC tokens seen on different networks?

QKC initially existed as an Ethereum ERC-20 token and was later migrated to a mainnet token with the launch of the QuarkChain mainnet. Although their names are similar, they are on different chains and have different directly usable network functions; mainnet QKC is the native asset of the QuarkChain network. This historical migration explains why users may see QKC representations on different networks. When handling balances, deposits, or withdrawals, users should first confirm whether the service requires the historical token representation on Ethereum, native QuarkChain coin, or a bridged representation, rather than judging compatibility by the token name alone.

What actually happens when native QKC is bridged?

Official documentation lists a Native QKC Bridge for bridging or migration operations involving native QKC. Bridging does not “copy” the same asset into another environment: the user initiates an operation on the source network, and the bridge mechanism then, according to its rules, enables the corresponding asset to be used on the destination network. Before operating, users need to separately check the source network, destination network, receiving address format, and fees required on both sides. Before bridging is completed, the asset's status depends on whether the bridge transaction has been processed by the relevant networks; if an unsupported network or address is selected, the receiving environment may not recognize it even if the transaction has been sent.

What conditions should be checked before using QKC?

Before sending QKC, first confirm whether the recipient supports native QuarkChain QKC and the required network; then verify the complete receiving address and retain a balance sufficient to pay Gas. Address and network are two independent conditions, and a mismatch in either may cause problems with receipt or subsequent use. After submission, the transaction needs to be processed by the network. Do not treat “signed in the wallet” or “broadcast” as meaning that it is already usable by the recipient; rely on the on-chain transaction status and the network actually supported by the recipient. Where bridging or service deposits are involved, also comply with the network and crediting conditions specified by that bridge or service.
