Why Did Polygon Ecosystem Token (POL) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

On 2026-11-03, a trading platform restored POL withdrawals on Ethereum and expanded withdrawal support across networks, improving transfer convenience. This was an operational change, not a direct change to the token’s supply and demand. Polygon’s expansion of Open Money Stack to Solana connects bank accounts, crypto wallets, and point-of-sale payments. It provides ecosystem context, but its timing has a weak connection to short-term price movements. Technical signals were mixed: the 15-minute MACD showed a death cross, while moving averages remained bullish and trend strength was weak; moving averages were bearish on the 1-hour and 4-hour charts, with limited trend strength; daily indicators were broadly range-bound. The order book on 2026-11-03 was relatively balanced but shallow overall. Concentrated sell orders could create overhead pressure, and a single large order could have a noticeable impact.

About Polygon Ecosystem Token (POL)

Polygon 2.0 is a newly proposed protocol that combines all of Polygon's current protocols with zero-knowledge (ZK) technology to produce a Value Layer, which enables seamless use of the Polygon network and expands Ethereum to an internet scale. Among the improvements introduced in Polygon 2.0 are enhanced decentralization in community governance, a token upgrade, multi-layered network architecture and a ZK ecosystem.

Use Cases and Features

POL is the native Gas and staking token of Polygon PoS. It can be used to pay network transaction fees, participate in staking, and support network security. Polygon positions it as the native token for an aggregated-chain ecosystem; broader service roles proposed officially include providing related services to networks. When holding or using POL, note the network involved and the token name shown in the wallet.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

POL is the upgraded token from MATIC. The initial design proposed in PIP-17 was to mint 10 billion POL to a migration contract to support a 1:1 migration between MATIC and POL; the proposal also introduced an annual emission arrangement for staking rewards and the community treasury. Existing MATIC balances on Polygon PoS were converted to POL at 1:1.
