About Platypus USD (USP)

Use Cases and Features

USP is an overcollateralized stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. It can be used as a liquid asset for farming on Platypus, and at launch it was available to mint in Main Pools LP. Platypus maintains its value with a stableswap AMM algorithm and coverage-ratio model. Its Adaptive Peg Stabilizer provides a layer of security in cases of depegging; these mechanisms support the dollar peg but do not make it unconditional.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

Users can mint USP by depositing LP tokens from Platypus pools as collateral. The collateral-supported borrowing limit constrains how much can be minted, and leverage can reach up to 20 times. This means issuance occurs through collateral-backed minting rather than a stated fixed release schedule. No total supply cap or fixed issuance amount is specified.
