Why Did PAX Gold (PAXG) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

PAXG is backed by physical gold, so its price moves with the gold market. On 2026-11-05, gold strengthened amid a weaker dollar and expectations that Democrats would control Congress after the U.S. midterm elections. Continued dollar weakness could support gold, but these factors do not constitute a PAXG-specific event. The World Gold Council reported that global central banks added a net 321 tonnes of gold reserves in the third quarter, up 42% year over year and the largest quarterly increase since the fourth quarter of 2024, reflecting official-sector demand. Technical data at 00:00 UTC on 2026-11-05 showed overbought RSI readings on the 15-minute, 1-hour and 4-hour charts, while the daily moving-average signal was bearish. At that time, sell orders across the top five order-book levels were about 5.6 times buy orders, indicating substantial overhead selling pressure. Overbought conditions and concentrated sell orders may hinder further gains, but do not determine the subsequent direction on their own.

About PAX Gold (PAXG)

PAX Gold is a virtual asset backed by physical gold stored in the vaults of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). It provides investors with a cost-effective way to hold physical gold.

Use Cases and Features

PAX Gold (PAXG) is a tokenized physical gold product managed by Paxos Trust Company, NA. It represents London Good Delivery gold held in segregation in London vaults as on-chain tokens, supporting fractional ownership, transfer, and use in supported blockchain environments. Holders can use Paxos's lookup tool to view certain allocation information for the corresponding gold; when platform conditions are met, they may also redeem it for U.S. dollars, unallocated gold, or allocated gold under its rules. PAXG is not currency or legal tender, and its value may fluctuate with gold market prices.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

The quantity of PAXG corresponds to London Good Delivery gold held in segregation for the benefit of holders: each token represents one troy ounce of fine gold. Paxos states that U.S. dollars used by customers to purchase PAXG are converted into the corresponding gold to maintain a one-to-one relationship between tokens and allocated gold; platform redemptions and related eligibility and fees are subject to applicable terms. Paxos publishes monthly reserve composition and independent attestation reports.
