Why Did Nimiq (NIM) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

The order-book snapshot from 2026-11-05 to 2026-11-06 showed about 9.32 million NIM across the top five sell levels, compared with about 1.24 million on the buy side, for a bid-to-ask depth ratio of 0.13. The largest sell order made up about 60% of top-five sell volume; this concentration could constrain short-term rebounds. Volume on the sampled candle was only 36,301 NIM, so in thin trading even limited orders can magnify price moves. The 4-hour and daily signals were bearish, with ADX readings of 52.34 and 40.77 respectively, indicating strong trends on those timeframes. The 15-minute signals conflicted, while the 1-hour timeframe showed no clear trend. These order-book and technical readings describe market conditions in that specific period and do not, by themselves, establish an external catalyst or continued declines.

About Nimiq (NIM)

Nimiq is the 'cryptocurrency of humanity'. The world's first browser centric blockchain payment protocol maximizes availability and scalability without affecting decentralization. NIM is a native token running on the Nimiq blockchain, which is used as the payment currency of the Nimiq ecosystem. It is designed for fast, convenient, and low-cost online and point of sale payments, as simple as PayPal, but with the true permissiveness and decentralization characteristics of cryptocurrencies. Through open source and free payment application software packages, NIM provides tools to promote true peer-to-peer payments, not only in e-commerce but also in physical stores, with the lowest entry threshold and no installation required.

Use Cases and Features

NIM is the native token of the Nimiq network. It can be used to send and receive value on the network and for staking. Nimiq uses the Albatross proof-of-stake mechanism: validators participate in block production and validation, while NIM holders can delegate NIM to validators or staking pools to help maintain the network.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

NIM has a designed final supply of 21 billion tokens, with an issuance period of about 100 years. The network used proof of work before November 2024, and block rewards were previously generated through mining; after moving to proof of stake, new issuance is mainly used as staking rewards.
