Why Did Nillion (NIL) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

At 10:00 UTC on 2026-10-21, the candlestick traded within a narrow range of 0.085 to 0.08608 and closed near the low, with volume of 78,801 units. The order book’s top-five-level bid-to-ask depth ratio was 0.50, and total sell orders were about twice the buy orders, indicating heavier sell-side offers at that time. This describes historical order-book pressure but does not by itself establish the cause of the price move. ADX ranged from 20.47 to 32.33, indicating limited overall trend strength.

About Nillion (NIL)

Nillion is a permissionless network that provides secure data storage and computation for blockchains and AI. Handling high value data (e.g. data for AI agents, trading data, etc.) is extremely challenging or impossible for blockchains. Nillion solves this problem by enabling storage and computation on encrypted data – a process known as blind computation.

Use Cases and Features

NIL is the utility token of Nillion Network, used to access decentralized computing and storage services. Holders can use NIL to interact with the network or participate as validators or delegators; its purpose is to support network services and coordination, rather than represent ownership of Nillion or its revenue.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

NIL is currently deployed on Ethereum Layer 1. The network provides rewards for validation work by Blacklight nodes, totaling annual inflation of 0.5%, or 5 million NIL per year. The earlier Cosmos nilChain has ceased operation, and balances not migrated before the snapshot must use the Merkle claim mechanism to obtain the corresponding Ethereum NIL.
