Why Did LayerZero (ZRO) Fall in the Last 24 Hours?

On 2026-10-23, Stargate v2 stopped supporting Gravity, Camp, GOAT, and Metis, and required users to redeem assets and liquidity positions by the deadline. Related fund movements could add pressure to the LayerZero ecosystem, but do not mean ZRO must continue to face selling. Technical signals were mixed: moving averages were bearish on the 15-minute and 4-hour charts but remained bullish on the daily chart; RSI was neutral across timeframes, while the low 1-hour ADX pointed to limited short-term trend strength. In the 2026-10-23 20:00 UTC order-book snapshot, bid and ask depth was relatively balanced, but large orders clustered near $1.741 and $1.7507, potentially constraining short-term price movement. A single snapshot does not reveal the intentions behind those orders. LayerZero plans to launch its mainnet and the lzATLAS trading engine on November 30 and introduce a ZRO burn mechanism; any actual support would depend on fees and the amount burned.

About LayerZero (ZRO)

LayerZero is an Omnichain Interoperability Protocol designed for lightweight message passing across chains. It provides authentic and guaranteed message delivery with configurable trustlessness, implemented as a set of gas-efficient, non-upgradable smart contracts.

Use Cases and Features

ZRO is the LayerZero network token. LayerZero is used to connect messages and asset interactions across different blockchains; in its economic design, once the protocol fee switch is enabled through governance, additional protocol fees can be used to repurchase and burn ZRO. Stargate revenue is also used for ZRO buybacks, but buybacks do not mean holders receive a fixed return, and the token price can still be affected by the market, unlocks, and implementation of the mechanisms.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

ZRO has a total supply of 1 billion tokens. Its supply structure includes unlocked tokens and tokens still under vesting, involving the LayerZero Foundation, strategic partners, and core contributors; therefore, unlocking progress may affect the amount available to trade on the market. Official materials also note that some tokens associated with strategic partners were repurchased and relocked.
