Why Did Kusama (KSM) Rise in the Last 24 Hours?

In the order-book snapshot at 15:00 UTC on 2026-10-25, the bid-to-ask depth ratio across the top five levels was 3.15, with 336.99 units of bids and 106.82 units of asks. A 232.28-unit bid at 3.817 accounted for 68.9% of total bid volume, while a 123.11-unit ask sat at 3.884. This concentration could provide short-term support and create overhead resistance, but a single snapshot cannot establish that the orders will remain or reflect institutional intent. Technical indicators were mixed: the 4-hour moving averages were bearish and ADX was 39.25, indicating a strong trend; 15-minute and 1-hour ADX readings were 12.91 and 16.94, respectively, consistent with weak short-term trends. Daily moving averages were neutral and ADX was 24.69. RSI was neutral across timeframes, and MACD gave no signal. Thus, order-book support coexisted with a bearish 4-hour structure; the bid wall alone was not enough to confirm a trend reversal.

About Kusama (KSM)

It can also allow future Boca network participants to rehearse in advance. For example, verifier nodes, parallel chain teams and builders of Boca ecological tools can use Kusama to prepare in advance. KSM is the native functional token of Kusama network. Its main functions include: Governance: KSM token holders can vote for network governance. Equity consensus Mortgage: the network verifier of relay chain needs to mortgage KSM tokens to run the node. Join the network pledge: parachains needs to pledge a certain amount of KSM tokens when joining the network. Handling fee: KSM is used to pay the handling fee arising from cross chain information transmission. Kusama is a public chain established for major experiments of Polkadot network. A major difference between Kusama and Polkadot is that Kusama adjusts network governance parameters to allow faster network evolution. For example, the voting period is 7 days and the implementation period is 8 days after the voting. Kusama's infrastructure includes relay chain, parachains, and bridges. Relay chain is the main blockchain of Kusama network, and all Kusama nodes run on relay chain. Parachains is a parallel blockchain connecting relay chain, which is maintained by its own network verifier, collators. Bridges is a special blockchain that connects parachains with external networks, such as bitcoin and Ethereum.

Use Cases and Features

Kusama is Polkadot’s canary network with real economic value, often used for earlier adoption of new features, governance upgrades, and on-chain application experiments. KSM is its native token and can pay transaction fees, be staked to help secure the network, be used to vote or delegate voting power in OpenGov governance, and purchase coretime.

Supply and Issuance Mechanism

KSM is an inflationary token. New issuance is used to incentivize network participants and support the on-chain treasury. Issuance is dynamically allocated between stakers and the treasury, influenced by the network-wide staking ratio and target staking ratio; inactive holdings may be diluted by inflation.
